109Hub

The Brief 109hub, a community-focused initiative in Luton, required a series of "Foundational Stories" to document the independent businesses and local characters that form the backbone of the high street. The objective was to move away from polished, corporate marketing and instead capture the raw, authentic heritage of the area to drive community pride and engagement.

The Strategy

We implemented an Observational Cinema approach. Rather than using scripted prompts, we focused on "The Core Truth" of each business owner.

  • Unfiltered Interviews: Conducting on-site, conversational interviews to capture the natural passion and grit of the local entrepreneurs.

  • Environmental Storytelling: Using fly-on-the-wall cinematography to document the textures, sounds, and movements of the Luton high street.

  • The "Human" Lens: Prioritizing intimate close-ups and natural lighting to ensure the audience felt an immediate, personal connection to the subjects.

S.Alimajstorovic

Project Lead – Future High Street Programme

Vijay helped us make a series of videos for a marketing campaign to promote local high street-based businesses in Luton. He was really professional throughout the whole project, responsive and really understood the brief well. We plan to work with him again in the future and would recommend him to anyone else for the work on their project
